It's been a fantastic two weeks - Linda; the owner of The Paper Peacock Scrapbooking Shop, hosted a wonderful scrapbooking/crafting/card-making retreat at Glentui Meadows last weekend. This was the first time I've been to such a thing....wow, it was two and a half days of creative bliss!!! Loved it, can't wait for the next retreat in October hosted by Maria & Brigid.
We were all challenged to do a scrapbook page layout, we were each given: white 12" x 12" card, and the same pre-cut chipboard title. Then we were dealt three playing cards from a deck of cards - written on these cards were embellishments to use on our scrapbook page... I was dealt: Glitter, Rhinestones and Ink. Here is the result :)
This was quite a challenge for me as I am not a seasoned scrapbooker, it was heaps of fun to do, and you should see the other ladies layouts OMG friggin awesome!!!
Monday Card Class
Monday 'pre-retreat', I wanted to share with my class the wonderful crepe paper butterfly technique that I learnt from an amazing lady - Liz Collett. Monday post-retreat....This month we are showcasing 'Ribbon' - at the retreat I created two cards with interesting folds, the colours were inspired by a beautiful two-toned organza ribbon...and the colours reminded me of my mum; colourful, beautiful, bold - hence the greeting :)

In my last post I mentioned I was looking for a part-time job - I found one, it's whanau time friendly and...I can still teach my Monday card class, yay!!! Life is good!
School holidays are upon us, I am having two weeks off Monday card class to look after my kids over the holidays. I have decided, the school holidays are a good time to start treating my body better; eat healthy, watch my portion sizes, cut out sugar (going to be very hard), exercise. I will be using a very good, free website Sparkpeople to help me track my diet and exercise.
