Shoot For The Stars....

Kia ora koutou

Every now and then I check my thoughts and always try to steer them in a positive direction, sometimes it's not an easy task, BUT - I can tell you my world has changed for the better :)

Well, where to begin - as always my big curly hair days and nights are super busy, plus Stampin' Up! has a lot of great things going on at the mo; Pre-order of the new catalogue for 1st July 2013 - 30th June 2014, retired list, best of stamp sets, my digital studio discounts, new colours colour refresh... Don't worry if I've missed anything, further details and links will be listed at the end of this post :)

Monday Card Class....

Daffodil Delight Stippled Blossoms

I asked the lovely Monday class ladies if they would like to make stamped cards (stamping is my favourite way to decorate cards). We used a 'two-step stamp set' (3D stamped image, by stamping base image first then layer detailed image over top) - Stippled Blossoms.  The ladies learnt how to use a stamp-a-ma-jig (stamp repositioner), and how to stamp two tones using the same colour ink, we had spectacular results!

Stamps - Stippled Blossoms, Summer Silhouettes, Apothecary Art, (don't know what stamp set the greeting came from, might be from an old hostess or sale-a-bration set).
Ink - Daffodil Delight, Gumball Green, Basic Black.
Card - Whisper White, Polka Dot Parade: Daffodil Delight, Old Olive.
Accessories - Labels Collection Framelits, Leaf Sizzlit, Rhinestones, Dimensionals.

Double Embossed - Stippled Blossoms

Stamps - Stippled Blossoms, A Fitting Occasion.
Ink - Primrose Petals
Card - White, Berrylicious, Kiwizest and Emma Bazzill
Accessories - Labels Collection Framelit, Lacy Brocade Embossing Folder, Designer Frames Folder, Lacy Border Punch, 1"Circle Punch, Itty Bitty Punch, Ribbon, Rhinestone, Dimensionals

This 'little pretty' is fun to make:  Center the framelit collection label and place your bigshot top plate halfway on the die (it will only cut out half of the framelit collection label shape). Emboss using the lacy brocade folder, take away one of you bigshot plates (all tabs closed on platform), place card in folder, using rectangle  template with an oval cut-out (window) cover the folder making sure the half cut framelit shape is centered in the oval window, then bigshot plate on top, emboss. Next, use the designer frames folder this time use the oval shaped template (only the oval frame will emboss the card) emboss the same way as before.

Double Dutch Gate Fold Card - Secret Garden

When I saw Graphic 45's beautiful paper 'Secret Garden'...just had to use it - added a bit of Kindy Glitz and Dimensional Magic here and there, voile! A masterpiece, thankfully the Monday class ladies loved this card and didn't mind making it :)
Stamp - Just Believe
Ink - Real Red
Card - French Vanilla, Arizona and Aqua Bazzill, Graphic 45 Secret Garden
Accessories - Lacy Brocade Embossing Folder, Perfect Polkadot Embossing Folder, Scalloped Circle Dies,  Fancy Label Punch, Corner Punch, Swirly Leaf Die, Fancy Rosette Die, Doily Die, Ribbon, Gold Corner Peel Craft, Kindy Glitz, Dimensional Magic, Dimensionals.

Shoot For The Stars...

Thank you Linda from The Paper Peacock for giving me the Kaisercraft pack called 'Blast Off'.  Wow, I had a ball designing two scrapbook pages and a card, especially since my two boys were the subjects of these bright, bold, fun layouts :)

Blast Off

My youngest son Bronson is the cute subject of this layout - he is lifting off, ready to blast off :)

Shoot For The Stars

This layout is intended for my autistic son Xavier, he is so bright, I believe he can achieve anything he puts his mind to - hence 'shoot for the stars' my son <3 (photo coming soon).

An October Occasion...

Kia ora koutou

The kids started back at school and kindergarten last week woohoo! :)  I started my new part-time job - it is fantastic, my employer's are lovely, I am going to do my best and hope they keep me on for a long time. I also started back at my Monday Card Class, how I missed the ladies - thank you Linda for teaching your wonderful cards over the school holidays.

Monday Card Class...

Romantic Vintage

This card is dedicated to nana <3

I wanted to show the ladies how fantastically resourceful the 6.5" x 6.5" pads are - full of beautiful card you can use to decorate, layer, and embellish your creative projects.  Some pads have the additional die-cut labels and borders BONUS!, quick and easy ready-to-make cards :)
The focal point of this card is the red flower - I sponged and stamped the ink colour 'Real Red' around the edges, connecting the focal point to the rest of the card.  For the inside of the card, I fussy-cut some flowers that are also featuring on the front of the card - so when you open the card it is all tied together and you are reminded of the prettiness on the front.

Stamps - Charming, Happy Greetings
Ink - Real Red
Card - French Vanilla Bazil, Kaisercraft: Needle and Thread 6.5" x 6.5" pad ( a few pages)
Accessories - Little Leaves Sizzlit, Butterfly Wings Embosslit, Lacy Border Punch, Scalloped Circle Punch, Triple Blossom Bouquet Punch, 5mm Corner Punch, Scissors (for fussy cutting), Hemp thread, Silver Brad, Dimensionals.

Butterfly Window

For this card, we made our own 'designer paper' by randomly stamping the beautiful swirl images and filling in the gaps with a small flower bouquet stamp with black ink on white card...stunning and simple, this technique is also known as 'one-sheet-wonder'; you can make a whole heap of cards using your hand-stamped designer sheet.
The front of the card has a vellum window with a layered butterfly on top, when closed you can see the designer paper through the window :)

Butterfly Easel

...So we had a little extra time, this meant we were able to make a little extra something :)  My talented and beautiful colleague (fellow tutor in The Paper Peacock design team) Maria, taught me how to make this pretty little easel card.  So simple and easy, if you would like instructions - email me; kerianneh@gmail.com or see me at The Paper Peacock :)

Stamps - Large Swirl Stamp (Borrowed from Linda), Charming, Apothecary Art
Ink - Basic Black
Card - Blue Lagoon Bazil, White Bazil, Vellum (opaque white)
Accessories - Beautiful Butterflies Bigz, Beautiful Wings Embosslits, Labels Collection Framelits, Rhinestone, Dimensionals, Scalpel (to cut out butterfly window).

....Thank You

I am ever grateful for my Stampin' Up! customers, because of you I have the best job in the world (in my opinion, lol)...I mean who else gets to play/create, have a party, meet wonderful people, get free products and fantastic discounts?
I always like to create a unique, beautiful thank you card and pop it in when returning customer orders -  here is the latest one:
Double embossing featuring a half-cut Label Framelit edge.
Stamps - Charming, Itty Bitty Banners
Ink - Blushing Bride
Card - Whisper White, In Color 2010 - 2012 Designer Series Paper Stacks
Accessories - Labels Collection Framelit, Lacy Brocade Embossing Folder, Designer Frames Folder, Beautiful Wings Embosslits, White Satin Ribbon, Dimensionals, Home-made templates for double-embossing.

Graduation

I was asked to make a graduation card, found this fantabulous design through Splitcoast Stampers - a very clever, creative lady Heidi Baks:  click here for the link to her blog; runningwscissorsstamper.

....Love You Mum

While writing this blog, I have been guiltily enjoying scoffing down my chocolates that were given to me for mother's day...sooooo yummmeh!  I want to take this opportunity to say to my mum Priscilla D and my mum out-law (not in-law yet)  Charmaine K - love you <3 xoxo

....On another note: 'An October Occasion' - actually, Saturday 19th October 2013 to be exact, happens to be quite a special occasion...tis the day Ryan and I are to tie the knot, get hitched, OMG get married!!! Yayyyyy, exciting, about time, can't wait!

Thanks for having a look, come back again, till next time...
